of the Rules
The philosophy is simple: when raising children a parent teaches them how to behave. If that parent is authentic and consistent in their teachings as well as their own actions the child will most likely follow suit. But if the parents are cruel, hypocritical, and nonnurturing to their children... they will actually follow suit as well. If that is the case, then we ought to raise our children more with our actions than our words. And for that to work we need some rules to guide us. There are many religious texts as well as secular scientific studies that propose rules for living. I simply distilled all those philosophies, guidelines, rules, laws, and commandments into three simple rules.
Love your neighbor as yourself. Treat others the way you wish to be treated. Do no harm you wish not be done to you. Respect others and they will respect you. It is easy to say, but difficult to live out.
More important than being genuine is acting with integrity. Being who you say you are or claim to be. Acting with the love you preach. Making decisions that affect the world for the better. Speaking in ways so as to comfort, console, raise up, and inspire people towards good.
Those persons who do not learn from history nor head their lessons are doomed to repeat mistakes of the past.
